The Kidz Biz Training Program is a 6-week program that cultivates the entrepreneurial mindset in our future leaders and helps students launch their own businesses. Through the program, students in grades 5-8 learn the skills and receive mentoring to help them turn their skills and interests into a profitable business idea! Students will have the opportunity to:
● Generate business ideas using their passions and skills
● Learn the basics of business finances (costs, price, revenue, profit, budgeting, taxes)
● Learn how to effectively market and sell products and services
● Connect with and learn from successful entrepreneurs across the Triad area
● Write a basic business plan
● Create a video for submission to be considered as a finalist in The Next Kidz Biz Competition
● Register the business with the state of North Carolina
● Participate in the Triad Minority and Women’s Business Expo and sell their products and/or services to the public!

Youth Entrepreneur Academy (YEA)
What is YEA?
This program is designed to educate and inspire young people to become successful entrepreneurs. It provides hands-on training in business fundamentals, financial literacy, leadership, and innovation. Participants gain real-world experience by developing comprehensive business plans, pitching their ideas to investors and business leaders, engaging in mentorship opportunities with established entrepreneurs, and learning the fundamentals of branding, marketing, and financial management.
Some of the key training modules include:
- Business Planning & Strategy – Crafting a solid business model and understanding market demands
- Financial Literacy & Budgeting – Managing money effectively and making smart financial decisions
- Leadership & Teamwork – Developing strong leadership skills to navigate challenges
- Marketing & Branding – Understanding how to position a business for success
- Innovation & Problem-Solving – Encouraging creative thinking and adaptability
- Legal & Ethical Considerations – Understanding business laws, contracts, and ethical decision-making.
